Melt-blown cloth is to use high-speed hot air flow to draw the thin stream of polymer melt extruded from the spinneret hole of the die, thereby forming ultra-fine fibers and collecting them on the condensing screen curtain or drum, and at the same time bonding themselves to become Meltblown nonwovens.

From the perspective of the industrial chain, the meltblown cloth mainly uses polypropylene as the main raw material, and the fiber diameter can reach 1-5 microns. Since the raw material polypropylene of meltblown cloth is taken from petroleum, petrochemical enterprises have an advantage in the production of meltblown cloth. The special material for meltblown cloth is polypropylene with high melt index. The higher the melt index of polypropylene, the finer the melt-blown fibers and the better the filterability of the melt-blown cloth.

Polypropylene (PP for short) is a polymer produced by addition polymerization of propylene. It is colorless, odorless, non-toxic, translucent waxy solid, and is the main material for the production of masks. Because polypropylene has the characteristics of chemical resistance, heat resistance, electrical insulation, high mechanical strength, etc., in addition to being used in the production of masks, it is also used in machinery, automobiles, electronic appliances, construction, textiles, packaging, agriculture, forestry, fishery and food industries. It has been developed and applied in many fields. According to public data, 1 ton of high-melt finger fiber material can produce about 250,000 germ protective masks. Based on this calculation, about 80 tons of high-melting index fibers are currently used in the production of germ protective masks every day, and the annual consumption is 28,000 tons.
